FT SOFTBALL FALL 2023 SEASON DETAILS

SCHEDULE
6/27/23: Registration opens

7/10/23: Early Bird ($10 savings) Registration ends

7/21/23: Last day to request a Head Coaching position

7/26/23: Head coaches will be notified by the FT Softball Board

7/28/23: Registration closes at midnight

7/29/23: Player Evaluations

7/30/23: Coaches Meeting & Player Selections (coaches only)

Week of 7/31/23: Coaches will email their players' families

8/5/23-8/6/23: First practice for all age groups

8/19/23: Opening Day!

9/23/23: 8U-16U Tournament (Last game for 6U)


GENERAL
*Registration cost is $105 through July 10. Beginning July 11, the registration cost will be $115.

*There is a $15 discount for each additional registered child.

*Age groups are determined by birth year and can be found HERE

*League rules can be found HERE

*Specific age group rules: 6U  8U  10U  12U & up

*Siblings in the same age group are guaranteed to be on the same team IF registered at the same time. If siblings are registered separately, please send an email to ftsoftball@gmail.com to ensure they are selected together.

*Due to the nature of the player selection, non-sibling team requests are NOT guaranteed.


COACHING
*Anyone interested in being selected as a Head Coach must send an email to ftsoftball@gmail.com by JULY 23 in order to be considered. Please list any previous coaching experience and let us know why you are interested. Head coaches will be selected by the FT Softball Board and must pass a background check.

*Head Coaches may select ONE Assistant Coach prior to Player Selections. If preferred, an Assistant Coach may be assigned after their team has been selected. Additional Assistants may also be chosen at this time.


PLAYER EVALUATIONS & SELECTION
*Player evaluations will be held for all 8U-16U players on Saturday, July 29 (times TBD). Coaches and Board Members will be in attendance to observe each session with the goal being to evenly distribute players between teams. Those not in attendance will be auto-selected onto a team. If it is found that a player's registration information has been purposely misrepresented, the Board may vote to disqualify the player from the Tournament.

*The Coaches Meeting/Player Selections will be held on Sunday, July 30 (times TBD) at the Franklin Township Softball fields. Coaches will receive a packet of information, will be informed of the Rules and Expectations for the season, and will select their teams during this time. This event is for coaches only. If an Assistant Coach has been chosen, they are welcome to attend. No players, please.


PRACTICE
*Practice days and times will be assigned at the Coaches Meeting. Families will be informed of their practice schedule by their Head Coach.

*The first practice for every team will be the weekend of August 5-6. Prior to the first game, all teams will have one scheduled weekday practice and one scheduled weekend practice.

*After games begin, 6U teams will no longer hold practice (games will serve as practice). 8U-16U teams will have one scheduled weekday practice.


GAMES
*6U teams will play one Saturday game and one weekday game each week between August 19 and September 23 (with the exception of Labor Day weekend), for a total of 10 games.

*8U-16U teams will play doubleheaders each Saturday between August 19 and September 16 (with the exception of Labor Day weekend). Additionally, there will be 2 weekday games, for a total of 10 games.

*Game schedules will be released by August 1.

*8U-16U teams will play a single elimination tournament on September 23.
