COACH’S CODE OF CONDUCT
I agree to abide by the following rules, specific to the fields, facility, buildings, and grounds of Franklin Township Girls’ Softball:
I understand that pets are not allowed on the grounds of Franklin Township Girls’ Softball fields and facilities, with the exception of service animals following ADA requirements.
I understand that I may only park in designated areas, and will drive slowly and carefully while on the grounds of Franklin Township Girls’ Softball for the safety of all players and spectators.
I understand that tobacco products are prohibited and will return to my vehicle if necessary.
I understand that alcohol is not allowed at the grounds of Franklin Township Girls’ Softball.
I understand that Franklin Township Girls’ Softball leases its grounds from the Franklin Township Community School Corporation and have read, and will follow, the Franklin Township School Board policy ‘A200-Firearms, Weapons, and Destructive Devices’.
I agree to abide by the following rules specific to coaching conduct and behavior:
I will read, understand, and abide by the age group-specific rules of the league.
I will be punctual and prepared for all practices and games.
I will put the emotional and physical well-being of all players ahead of my personal desire to win, and agree to provide only positive support during practices and games.
I will refrain from criticizing, talking to, or about any player or coach in a negative manner while in the presence of players, including my own child/ren.
I will communicate with the other coaches in my age group and work together with them toward the goal of improving the performance of all players, not only the players on my team.
I will respect the decisions of the officials. Questions can only be asked for the sake of clarification, and only after calling and being granted a time out. Any concerns regarding officials will be directed to the board.
I will not engage in a negative manner with any spectator on the opposing team for any reason.
I understand the following behaviors could result in removal from a game. Once a Coach has been removed from a game, the Executive Board will ask for written documentation from each party involved within 48 hours of the incident, and will take appropriate follow up action.
Vulgar language in a boisterous manner, even if not directed at a particular person, before, during, or immediately following, a practice or game.
Taunting, talking to, or about any players, including my own child/ren, in a negative way before, during, or immediately following a practice or game.
Arguing with an opposing coach, umpire, or spectator during, or immediately following a practice or game.
Otherwise engaging in misconduct, or unsportsmanlike behavior before, during, or immediately following a game.
I understand the following behaviors WILL result in removal from a practice or game, and may also result in expulsion from the league.
Fighting or physical violence with any player, coach, official, board member, or spectator at any time on the grounds of Franklin Township Girls’ Softball.
Sexual harassment, including but not limited to, abusive, violent, or sexual contact with any player, coach, official, board member, or spectator at any time on the grounds of Franklin Township Girls’ Softball.
